A town tradition returned Mother’s Day weekend as the Pelham Market reopened for the season on May 11. Lining Harmon Avenue, vendors and visitors gathered in the spring sunshine to celebrate the market’s opening day. It will run through Thanksgiving.
Now a staple of Pelham’s Sunday morning, the market drew locals out for fresh produce, handmade goods, live music and the cheerful, bustling atmosphere. Families walked their dogs, sampled artisanal cheeses and purchased baked goods. Neighbors reunited at familiar booths. The market is more than just a place to shop—it’s a space where the community comes together every weekend.
“The market is a great, unique, eclectic group of people who really are very welcoming to all of the vendors and local businesses,” said a representative from Dobbs Ferry Lobster Guys, one of the original sellers. “They support all of us.”
Doc Pickle, another founding vendor, shared a similar sentiment: “I really love the vendors, the people, the animals and the music over here.”
Each year brings new offerings, and market-goers can look forward to seasonal produce, unique artisanal products and additional small businesses joining the lineup in 2025.
