This is the season of change here at the Pelham Examiner. On June 9, new editors took over running the paper, some with previous experience in other jobs on the masthead and others new to leadership roles. Here are the people who are editing Pelham’s community newspaper during its eighth year of publication:
Executive Editor: Kiran Schwaderer
Managing Editor: Nate Reynoso
Deputy Managing Editor: Charlotte Cohn
Assistant Managing Editor: Ciara Lynch
Assistant Managing Editor/Sports: Conor Waters
Entertainment Editor: Celeste Kalehoff
Business Editor: Charlotte Hong
Photo Editor: Jade D’Amore
Among them, they have covered government beats, written dozens of excellent stories and served as department editors or on the masthead in other positions.
Kiran, Charlotte and Ciara joined the Examiner in the sixth grade.
Kiran will continue covering the Village of Pelham Board of Trustees. Charlotte is turning over the school board beat to Ciara in July, while Nate will keep responsibilities for the paper’s social media accounts.
Thank you to all the seniors who served as editors and reporters this past year—for several years, in many cases: Lark Martin, Gillian Ho, Kira Findikyan, Oliver Lavallee, William Knickerbocker, Julia Findikyan, Sabine Bushong, Scarlett Hanlon, Henna Wei and JJ Hetzer.
Gillian, Kira, Oliver, Julia and Sabine were the youngest of the 24 founders of the paper when they were middle schoolers in the spring of 2018. This is the last year students from the founding group will graduate. They were part of a mighty deed.
Congratulations in advance to all of them on their graduation and for each and every one of their accomplishments!
