To the Editor:
To all those who park along Siwanoy Place to drop off and pick up their children: STOP being entitled by blocking our driveways.
This is something that the school administration has failed to enforce, so the entitled among us have no issues parking illegally. There are many anecdotes – years ago, a neighbor could not bring her child with a 104-degree fever to urgent care. Why? Someone saw an “open parking spot” conveniently located in front of the parent’s driveway (fortunately the next-door neighbor drove them). Or the repeat offenders – one guy has done it three times in my driveway and at least once in my next-door neighbor’s.
And to top it off, there are many of these selfish boors who cop an attitude – how dare I ask you to move your car and force you to park elsewhere!
It’s not your spot. The driveway belongs to the house owner.
I wonder what the village would think if we took pictures of the offenders so they could be ticketed retroactively.

Next time it happens, call the police and insist they ticket. I believe the NYS fine is $95. So call the police and charge them $95 or start charging $95 to park in front of your driveway.
