Pelham Democrats confirm Mullen, Hill-Reis, Carpenter and Spira-Cohen for village elections in March

Attending registered Democrats of the Village of Pelham selected their slate of candidates on Wednesday for the election March 19 during a party caucus held at the Daronco Townhouse. Chance Mullen, incumbent trustee, earned the nomination for mayor. Lisa Hill-Reis, Mike Carpenter and incumbent Ariel Spira-Cohen all won nomination for village trustee. The vote was a unanimous decision, decided by voice. All the candidates had previously announced their plans to run.

Jennie Driesen and Liz Massie, leaders of the Pelham Democratic Party, were selected as caucus teller and chair, respectively. Westchester County Executive George Latimer was present at the caucus and gave a words of encouragement for to the Democratic Party in the Village of Pelham.

Amy Rios, town clerk and the only Democrat holding town office, stressed that Democrats in Pelham should run for town board positions if they wish to break through at that level of local politics.

Village Republicans also caucused Wednesday night.
