Village of Pelham police blotter: June 24-30

Sunday, June 24

3:10 a.m. – An officer on patrol observed a man walking northbound on Fifth Avenue, stumbling and yelling. He was extremely intoxicated, unable to provide his current address, unable to give his cell phone number, uncertain as to what day of the week it was, and unable to follow any directions. An ambulance was on scene, and he advised the EMTs that he mixed his medication with alcohol. He was transported to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.

4:04 p.m. – Pelham Police Department units assisted MTA Police with an uncooperative passenger on the North side of the platform; a man had refused to pay his train fare.

5:45 p.m. – Officers were dispatched to an address on Fifth Avenue on report of a man with back pain. Upon arrival, the man stated he was having severe lower back pain and was unable to move his extremities without discomfort. He was transported to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital for further evaluation.

7:33 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Second Avenue on report of a suspicious circumstance. The caller advised the officer that his house was for sale and on the market. At approximately 7:20 p.m., he observed a black SUV pull in front of his residence and two white males exited the vehicle. The individuals subsequently walked into a neighbor’s yard, where they took photos of the caller’s residence as well as the lock box at that location. He stated that as they were leaving they briefly spoke with him and asked to see the residence. He refused and the men advised they would have their agent get in touch with him or the realtor. The incident was caught on video and shown to the officer. The area was canvassed with negative results.

Monday, June 25

4:38 a.m. – An officer was dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle occupied by an unknown male on Fraser Street. It was a livery service waiting for a fare.

9:25 a.m. – Officers were dispatched to an address on Pelhamdale Avenue on report of an elderly woman who fell. The woman stated she was in mild pain from falling, and was transported to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.

Tuesday, June 26

4:05 p.m. – Officers were dispatched to Danny’s Cycles of 109 Wolfs Lane on report of a larceny of a bicycle. The store manager stated a black male, aged approximately 16-20 years old with short black hair, wearing a black t-shirt and black pants, entered the store and stole a bicycle from a rack in the front, adjacent to the front door. The area was canvassed with negative results. A copy of the surveillance video was obtained and given to detectives.

6:20 p.m. – A man called, stating a suspicious person was going from store to store on Fifth Avenue asking for money. Officers were dispatched, and the individual was gone on arrival.

Wednesday, June 27

6:30 a.m. – An officer on patrol noticed a village violation for garbage left out at the curbside in a non-residential district on Fifth Avenue. A ticket was issued, to be served at a later date.

Thursday, June 28

11:19 p.m. – A resident of Lincoln Avenue stated they broke their key in the lock and requested assistance. Officers were dispatched to assist.

Friday, June 29

7:22 a.m. – Officers were dispatched to a Sixth Avenue building on report of a male laying down in the lobby, asleep. Officers reported that all was in order, and that he was going into his friend’s apartment.

10:32 a.m. – A woman came into the police station, stating her driver’s license had been lost or stolen when she was out shopping in Pelham on June 19th. She does not know where, and needed to document this in order to get a replacement from the DMV.

10:48 a.m. – A resident of Seventh Avenue called for documentation of a trespass. She stated she went to the back of her yard and observed her garbage cans were moved out of the way of the foundation of the adjacent residence, and observed orange X’s on the foundation of said adjacent residence. The only way to access the foundation of the adjacent residence is to go through a gated fence at her residence.

10:22 p.m. – A man called, reporting that two individuals were talking loudly in the street near Wolfs Lane. Officers spoke to the individuals and advised them to be quieter.

Saturday, June 30

8:40 a.m. – Officers received report of a lawn crew using lawnmowers before 10 a.m. on Young Avenue. Officers were dispatched and the condition corrected.

8:36 p.m. – Officers were dispatched to Sergio’s Ristorante, located at 503 Fifth Avenue, on report of a diabetic emergency. Upon arrival, the victim was conscious and alert, and refused further medical attention.
