Pelham, NY: Split The Bill NY, a charitable initiative that aims to drive business to local restaurants dealing with the challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic, announced the next phase of their campaign. Taking place Thursday, October 8th, in the Village of Pelham, Split The Bill NY encourages people to support local restaurants by dining in or ordering out from any of the Participating Restaurants listed on their website. Once customers have enjoyed their meal, they can go to www.splitthebillny.com and fill out a Reimbursement Form confirming purchase of their meal, and within 3-7 days they will be reimbursed for 50% of their restaurant receipt, up to $50. The deadline to submit a Reimbursement Form is 11:59 PM on October 8th, the day of the program.

The program is being funded by Pelham House LLC, the preferred developer selected by the Village of Pelham to construct the Village’s new municipal center and develop a new mixed use development downtown.

Split the Bill NY, which was created by the Sidgmore Family Foundation, has already driven over $84,000 in total retail spend to participating restaurants in past campaigns that have taken place in various villages on Long Island. Village of Pelham restaurants that are participating in the upcoming program hope it will help drive more business to their establishments.

Mark Reed, one of the principals of Pelham House, is excited to lend his support to this initiative. “Pelham is such a tight-knit community and we wanted to see what we could do to make a contribution back to the Village during these difficult times. Seeing Split The Bill’s success on Long Island made me want to get them here, so I’m very grateful they are making Pelham their first community in Westchester.” Mark Reed’s partners in Pelham House include Sisca Northeast and Village of Pelham resident, Patrick Normoyle.

Split The Bill NY is keeping local officials and the Pelham Chamber of Commerce optimistic about the future of our downtowns. “One of the bright spots during this pandemic has been watching our community rally behind our local businesses,” said Pelham Village Mayor Chance Mullen. “We recently passed a law that gives our restaurants the ability to continue offering outdoor seating throughout this pandemic because we’re committed to giving them the support they need to get through this. I’m thrilled to have Pelham House and the Sidgmore Family Foundation joining us in that spirit, and it’s a point of pride that we’re the first village in Westchester to partner with Split the Bill NY.”

Cristina Chianese, President of the Pelham Chamber of Commerce, has expressed her gratitude for the program. “The Chamber is so grateful that Split the Bill NY is coming to the Village of Pelham,” said Chianese. “Our local restaurants have done so much for the community over the past six months, from delivering food to frontline workers to creating beautiful outdoor dining spaces. They’ve been there for us during this difficult time, and Split The Bill NY is giving us the opportunity to return the favor.”

“Local restaurants are struggling,” explained Randi Sidgmore, Founder and Director of the Sidgmore Family Foundation, the private family foundation behind the creation of Split The Bill NY. “Split The Bill NY is a way for locals to support these restaurants and their community, in a mutually beneficial way. We’re grateful that Pelham House is providing funds to run a program in the Village of Pelham and keep the momentum going for this initiative.”

Split The Bill is hoping to expand its initiative to areas all over the country with the help of corporate or private foundations who are willing to fund a campaign in their town or city. If you are interested in funding a Split The Bill campaign in your area (can be outside of New York), send an email to [email protected]. In your email, please include some details about your foundation or organization.
