Pelham Manor: Police reform forum ‘fostered a healthy and productive community discussion’
Editor’s note: This press release was provided by the Village of Pelham Manor.
Pelham Manor’s public forum under Executive Order 203 fostered a healthy and productive community discussion. The Village continues to consider all comments and looks forward to further input from stakeholders. For those specifically interested in the topic of body cameras, please see minutes 37:47 to minutes 44:26 in the below video link (or click here). As Stakeholder Working Group (SWG) member Chris Ganpat stated, the Village has not ruled out this option. SWG member Kevin To provided additional information, based on his professional experience as a Lieutenant with the NYPD. The Village will continue its research as to the possible benefits of body cameras, relative to the amount of arrests and criminal activity in Pelham Manor, as well as the cost to the Village.
If you would like to comment on this topic or any police matters, please e-mail Trustee and Police Commissioner Breda Bennett at [email protected].
