Pelham’s Paul Freedman to speak on ‘What is American Cuisine?’ on Manor Club Zoom program Tuesday

Author and Yale professor Paul Freedman of Pelham will speak on  “What is American Cuisine?”  on a Zoom program of The Manor Club on Monday, Feb. 22 at 7:30pm.

His teaching and research over many years has concentrated on the history of the Middle Ages (particularly in Spain). The history of food and cuisine is a relatively recent interest. In 2007 Freedman edited Food: The History of Taste, translated into ten languages. He is the author of Ten Restaurants that Changed America, (2016). He has also completed a short book for Yale University Press entitled “Why Food Matters” which will be published in the fall of 2021.

He has lived in Pelham since 1997 with his wife Bonnie Roe who is a member of The Manor Club.

His talk on Feb. 22 is based on a book entitled American Cuisine and How It Got This Way which appeared in October 2019.
