Middle school STEAM Club members take awards in three-county competition

The Pelham Middle School STEAM Club showcased months of hard work and research at a virtual competition with their peers from Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties on Saturday, April 24 with strong results. Seventh grader Tomas Tvaroska (Earth and Space Category) and 6th grader Aanika Roy (Health and Medicine Category) each won third place awards for their respective projects titled “A Comparison of Phytoplankton in Connection to Biofertilizer for Space Exploration” and “Matter of the Heart: Association of BMI with heart rate and blood pressure.” Aanika also earned the honor of top 10% of all the exhibits and was selected as an alternate to compete in the prestigious Broadcom Masters Competition.  Congratulations to all the members for their hard work and dedication and special thank you to Club Advisor Maria Buckley!
