The Friends of the Town of Pelham Public Library are happy to announce that this year’s Novel Night After Party is generously sponsored by Benchmark Education. Benchmark Education sponsored the After Party in 2018 as well.  Novel Night, which will take place on October 2nd, is the central fundraiser for Pelham’s library. Funds raised through Novel Night are used to support library programming for adults and children, to fund essential purchases like new furniture and computers, and to ensure patron access to electronic information and technology.

As an educational publisher founded in Pelham, Benchmark Education has developed language and literacy resources designed to support and empower children of all backgrounds and abilities. Benchmark Education and the Pelham Public Library share a common goal of bringing books into the lives of children. Benchmark co-founder Sera Reycraft, an experienced architect who started the company with husband Tom Reycraft, spent several years as a member of Pelham Public Library’s inaugural board, a group that raised funds, designed, and helped to open the library in 1995.

Sera and Tom Reycraft are longtime Pelham residents and have attended and hosted many Novel Night dinners in the past. Sera and Tom raised their four children in Pelham, three of whom now live in Pelham, including Benchmark Executive Vice Presidents Sera Hoffman and Will Reycraft, who are Novel Night enthusiasts. Sera Reycraft says, “Novel Night represents so much of what Pelham does best. It brings together the community to celebrate and support all that the Pelham Public Library does to make Pelham such a special place to live.”
