Winter Wonderland brings horse and carriage rides, Santa, caroling, holiday market to Pelham Nov. 27

The Pelham Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Winter Wonderland Nov. 27 to kick off the holiday shopping season at the town’s small businesses.

The event will begin with Santa taking pictures from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. From there, the festivities will continue at the town Gazebo, where activities will include horse and carriage rides through town, three 45-minute performances from Elsa and Anna and a green-screen winter wonderland photo experience. At 5:15 p.m., the town tree will be lit with caroling from the Pelham Larks and Girl Scouts.

We are building off of the success we had last year and making this year even bigger and better,” said Chamber President Cristina Chianese. “Thanks to where we are in the pandemic and things being safer, we can now offer family-fun activities like the bouncy house and carriage rides, etc. We really hope it’s a day that families come together and really enjoy being in Pelham.”

“The hope for the Winter Wonderland is that the town will come to expect and look forward to a fun Small Business Saturday,” she said. “We would love this to be an annual event.”

Numerous local small businesses are sponsoring the event, including Tig & Peach, Buddha Booth, Plaster Place Pottery, Thrive Barre and Fitness, J&S Mechanical, C&B Plumbing and Heating, Meridian Risk Management and Anna & Jack’s Tree House.

A holiday market featuring many of the Pelham businesses will be held in the parking lot of 200 Fifth Ave.

“We hope this will remind people that, in addition to our play space and classes, we carry lots of fun and unique toys and gifts at the store,” Tig and Peach owner Amanda Tigges Star said. “We encourage people to help support their local businesses and shop local this holiday season.”
