MASKS OPTIONAL IN PELHAM SCHOOLS STARTING WEDNESDAY

Masks will be optional for all students and staff in the Pelham school district beginning Wednesday, according to an email sent to parents Sunday night.

This follows Gov. Kathy Hochul’s announcement Sunday the state’s indoor mask mandate for schools would be be lifted effective Wednesday, said the email. “We will share additional information and resources about this change in policy tomorrow,” the district said.

Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Champ announced Feb. 1 that when permitted by the state, masks would be optional in the district.
