Picture House cinemas begin free Tuesday afternoon films for senior citizens

September 19, 2023 –Pelham and Bronxville, NYSENIOR CINEMA kicks off today at The Picture House Regional Film Center (www.thepicturehouse.org).   Moviegoers 65 and older enjoy a great afternoon of film and friends at the theaters in Bronxville and Pelham on Tuesday afternoons at 2:30pm starting September 19th, 2023 and running to June, 2024.

“We are excited that Senior Cinema is back at both our Pelham and Bronxville locations,” said Clayton Bushong, Executive Director of The Picture House. “Screenings will feature a wide selection of first run movies, including box-office hits, Indy flicks, documentaries, and international cinema. This is not just a free movie; it is an important quality of life element for Seniors in our community spaces as both a cultural and a social experience.”

For free admission on Tuesdays, Seniors should head to the box office before showtime to pick up their ticket.  Annual membership holders ($55 for those 65+ ) will also enjoy free popcorn every time they visit the theater along with discounted tickets every day of the year.  Senior Cinema is made possible by grants from NY State Assembly member Amy Paulin, Con Edison and the Bronxville Community Foundation.   As a reminder, The Picture House Regional Film Center offers half-priced tickets on Tuesdays for all other movie goers.
