(December 8, 2023– Pelham, NY) Mike Ming, President of the Pelham Civics, has a simple definition for this volunteer organization “We’re an association that helps find solutions to problems. Period. So when our Pelham Civic Board member and former retired Chief of Police Joe Benefico approached our Board to help the two Fire Departments of the Village of Pelham and Pelham Manor with much needed portable sump pumps and emergency equipment, a $5000 donation from the Civics was quickly made.”

Benefico (who was recently honored by the Pelham Civics as 2023 Person of the Year) continued,”Protecting life and property is a 24-hour job for our Fire and Police Departments. Flooding and further water damage is devastating to our residents and their homes. We hope that this donation will help our everyday heroes in their jobs.”
