Last week, Fire Chief Michael Greco presided over Pelham Manor’s annual Fire Inspection and Awards program. The Chief offered an overview of the department’s responses and comprehensive training.

Later in the program, Chief Greco recognized several members of the PMFD, including FF Parisi, for his distinguished efforts during last year’s Christmas Eve fire. He also highlighted the actions of Capt. Costa and FF Tortorella at that event. Additionally, Chief Greco recognized FF Fumo, FF Fiorito and FF Ruggiero for their response to a structure fire in August. The Chief awarded a Unit Citation to Local 2181 for the storm response in September and recognized the Pelham Fire Department for its ongoing mutual aid. Finally, the Chief highlighted the careers of retiring FF’s Swartout and Fumo.

Lawrence Cooke, President of the Volunteer Company, recognized Jon Kasper as Volunteer Responder of the Year and presented Frank Cowan with the John Cermanski Award.

Congratulations to all of our brave first responders and best wishes for safety during the holidays, and always! We appreciate your service to Pelham Manor!
