[Pelham, NY] Girls on the Run Comes to Pelham, Registration Now Open!
Girls in 6th through 8th grades are invited to join Girls on the Run’s (GOTR) Heart & Sole program, a movement-based afterschool program that empowers girls to activate their unique potential, build their confidence, and foster healthy relationships. The program teaches fundamental life skills through games, goal setting activities and impactful community projects. Sessions will take place Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-4:45pm at Siwanoy Elementary School beginning March 18th and will run for ten weeks. Registration is now open through the Pelham Recreation Department.
The spring session will culminate with a non-competitive 5K Run on May 31st! GOTR teams from throughout the Hudson Valley will come together at the 5K to recognize how far participants have come and how far they will continue to go. No prior running experience is necessary — the ten-week program will prepare the girls to complete the run.
Girls on the Run Hudson Valley is a nonprofit organization with locations throughout Orange, Dutchess, Putnam, Ulster, Rockland and Westchester counties. The fee for the Spring Session is $250; financial assistance is available on a sliding scale based on self-reported household income at registration.
Please visit www.pelhamrecreation.com to register. Questions? Contact Jodi Cabrera at [email protected] or co-coach Melissa Ronan at 914-621-8948.
