August 21, 2024 – Pelham and Bronxville, NY – The Picture House Regional Film Center announced today that the annual fall fundraising event, Picnic in the Park, on September 7, 2024, will feature a special advance screening of Aubrey Plaza’s new comedy My Old Ass. This coming-of-age film, a 2024 Sundance Film Festival selection, also stars the young and talented actress Maisy Stella, known for her breakout role in ABC’s hit series Nashville. Picnic in the Park is a beloved community tradition that brings film, food trucks and dancing under the stars together for a night to remember. The end-of-summer soiree kicks off at 6:00pm in our newly added outdoor space, The Patio at the Picture House in Pelham, alongside the beautifully renovated 1921 Pelham theater. After the screening, guests will head to Wolfs Lane Park directly across from the theater, where they will enjoy drinks, dinner from a selection of food trucks, including Jiannetto’s Pizza, Tecas Tacos, Walter’s Hot Dogs, and Bona Bona Ice Cream, and music provided by NY Event Sounds and performed by DJ Luis Williams.
Picnic in the Park ’24 is chaired by Courtney Maron, Jason Feldman. Amanda Starr and Emily Donnelly. Meridian Risk Management is the Marquee Sponsor of the event.

This year’s film, Amazon Studios’ My Old Ass, is a fresh coming-of-age story. An 18th birthday mushroom trip brings free-spirited Elliott (Maisy Stella) face-to-face with her wisecracking 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza). But when Elliott’s “old ass” starts handing out warnings about what her younger self should and shouldn’t do, Elliott realizes she has to rethink everything about family, love, and what’s becoming a transformative summer.
