Following a robust review of candidates, the Village of Pelham Manor is excited to announce that Andrew Leal will serve as the next Police Lieutenant of the Pelham Manor Police Department (PMPD).
Lieutenant Leal is a highly organized and dedicated professional with over 13 years of law enforcement experience. He joined the PMPD in 2011, and has since experienced every position of the rank and file of the PMPD. This experience provides him with a unique perspective of the department’s operations.
In addition to his experience, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and has achieved a plethora of additional certifications and trainings since. Lieutenant Leal is trilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He has demonstrated strong leadership abilities, which will support a smooth transition into his new role.
We welcome Lieutenant Leal to his new position, and the Board of Trustees are looking forward to recognizing the transition at their February 10, 2025 meeting.
