The Huguenot Nursery School’s parking lot was filled with music and activities as children of all ages gathered to celebrate the nursery’s annual Fun Fair on June 9.

Andreas Pierroustsakos, a parent at the fair, said, “My daughter just finished her gymnastics class at Spotlight, so it’s a good way to spend time.”

The fair showcased a variety of vehicles for children to learn about and explore, including fire trucks, police cars, construction vehicles, a train, an ambulance and a department of transportation truck.

Police Officer Rita McConnell, who showed kids her police car, said, “It’s a really fun way to let kids in so they can understand what we do and what our job is.”

McConnell’s goal was accomplished. One child, Herik Gonda, said, “My favorite part was pushing the police car’s button.”

There were also many other activities catered towards children, like face painting, Hot Wheels racing, ring tossing games, a giant slide, a carousel and bouncy castles.
