Editor’s note: This campaign statement was provided by Theresa Mohan, candidate for Town Supervisor of Pelham. The Pelham Examiner publishes campaign statements in the form received as a service to the community.
I’m Theresa Mohan, and I’m running for Town Supervisor — and I’m so glad to have this chance to tell you why.
My husband, Peter Moskowitz, and I have made Pelham our home for 25 years, raising our four daughters right here. I’ve coached rec and travel sports, and I’ve served as PTA President of both Hutchinson Elementary and Pelham Memorial High School, and volunteered for so many of the amazing organizations we have in Pelham. I love this community, and I’ve always tried to make it better.
Some of you may know me as a Village of Pelham Trustee, where I’m serving my third term. In this role, I’ve focused on results. Most recently, I helped secure multiple grants that allow the Village to expand its sustainability goals — without increasing a single tax.
Professionally, I’m an attorney and I’ve served as General Counsel and Head of Human Resources for organizations of over 15,000 people. I currently teach leadership and ethics at Fordham Law School.
Right now, our Town government doesn’t have a roadmap for the future. It’s been reactive — not proactive. Pelham deserves leaders who won’t just maintain what we have, but who will plan boldly for what comes next and bring that vision to life.
My experience — as a Trustee, an executive, and an educator — has taught me that good leadership means listening first, then planning, and then delivering results. As Supervisor, my first priority will be making sure you’re heard. That starts with a comprehensive Town survey to learn what our community truly needs and values.
From there, we’ll create a roadmap for Pelham’s future — with new ideas like a community center, a modern senior center, and leadership programs for our high school students. And we will bring this plan forward, through grant funding and strategic planning.
I love Pelham as much as you do. I’ve spent the last 25 years working to make it better — and now, I’m asking you to take this next step with me. Together, we can continue the work that makes Pelham such a treasure…AND build a place that’s ready for our future.
