Pelham Manor police blotter: June 10-11

Sunday, June 10

12:17 a.m. – A neighbor called to file a noise complaint; a loud party was being held at a home on Pelhamdale Ave. The resident was advised to turn the music down.

7:09 a.m. – Officers dispatched to an activated alarm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 559 Pelham Manor Road; the alarm had accidentally been set off by an employee. All was in good order.

8:26 a.m. – A caller reports a Hispanic male in his twenties was waving his arms and acting irrationally near Boston Post Road and Fowler Avenue. The area was checked, call unfounded.

10:04 a.m. – Several 911 calls were received from the police call box at Shore Park. A third call was received and the Verizon 911 main office technician was on the line, explaining previous calls were him testing the line.

12:45 p.m. – A three-car accident occurred in front of the BJ’s of 825 Pelham Parkway. Vehicle 1, driven by an unlicensed driver, lost control and crashed into parked and unoccupied vehicle 3, after hopping the curb. Vehicle 3 was pushed backwards into vehicle 2, and the airbag deployed for vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 was towed to Westchester Auto Collision. Pelham Manor Fire Department was on scene for fluids in the roadway. No injuries reported.

2:31 p.m. – A man lost his license somewhere between the Wolfs Lane Deli and his home, and requested, and was issued an MV-278.

Monday, June 11

8:16 a.m. – The manager of Pioneer Transportation Corp. at 57 Canal Road reported that 15 batteries were taken out of 5 different buses in the parking lot. The buses were last parked intact on Friday, June 8, at 6:40 p.m., and the batteries discovered missing that morning at 5:15 a.m. Thirteen of the 15 batteries removed were stolen, two of them found against the chainlink fence. The 13 stolen batteries totaled $1690; no other damages reported. Scene was processed and photographed for evidence. Security footage was unable to be seen at that time, but nearby Danny’s Cycles provided photo and video. Investigation ongoing.

1:00 p.m. – An officer called that he was conducting a walkthrough of Siwanoy Elementary School. All in order.

1:23 p.m. – Car accident near Boston Post Road and Pelhamdale, no injuries reported.

2:17 p.m. – An officer called that he was conducting a walkthrough of Prospect Hill Elementary School. All in order.

7:55 p.m. – Officers responded to an alarm on Jackson Avenue, which had been accidentally set off by the resident.
