School board will review strategic goal of cultural proficiency during Tuesday work session

The Board of Education will meet at 8:15 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in PMHS Alumni Hall on the ground floor of Pelham Memorial High School, 575 Colonial Avenue, Pelham, NY 10803. Prior to the public meeting, the Board is expected to meet in executive session at 7:30 pm in the Superintendent’s Conference Room in the Central Office, 18 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803.

The Board will conduct a work session on the Strategic Plan goal of Cultural Competence before holding a brief regular business meeting. At the work session, Brenda and Franklin CampbellJones of CampbellJones and Associates will share information about the Cultural Proficiency training that has been ongoing in the District.

In addition to Dr. Champ’s Superintendent’s report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, the three goal areas of the Strategic Plan: Cultural Competence, Authentic Learning, the Whole Child, and Finances and Facilities.

The Board may also review and/or approve the following policies: Policy 5661 – Wellness (second reading); Policy 5220 – Investments (first reading). These policies are available for review on BoardDocs as part of the meeting agenda which will be available for viewing 24 hours before the meeting.
