Eighth grader Miles Maiberger who recently competed at in the 2019 National Geographic New York State GeoBee at the New York State Museum in Albany.

Miles qualified as a state semifinalist after scoring as one of the top 100 students in the state on an online test that was submitted to the National Geographic Society. He had previously won the Pelham Middle School contest for the second year in a row.

The National Geographic GeoBee is an annual competition designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world.

Students in grades 4-8 from nearly 10,000 schools across the United States compete for a chance to win college scholarships and the glory of being the National Geographic GeoBee Champion.
