ONGOING: Ceramic Artists Respond to COVID-19
Clay Art Center presents Connections, a virtual two-part exhibition featuring ceramic artists from across the US who have submitted images of postcards in process, whether as drawings, mixed media or clay, along with a message about their experience during this time. The digital entries are showcased on the Center’s website, with ongoing submissions being accepted until July 15.
ONGOING: ArtsWestchester’s ArtsMobile Provides Virtual Workshops
ArtsWestchester’s ArtsMobile offers virtual creative and fun art-making activities every Wednesday via YouTube. Using items commonly found at home, participants can work on literary, performing and visual art workshops led by professional teaching artists. In the latest video, ArtsWestchester teaching artist Matt Turk presents a folk music workshop.
SUN, MAY 24: Curator Tour: Glenview and Gilded Age Women’s Fashion
This Sunday, Hudson River Museum will host a virtual tour of its 1877 Gilded Age home Glenview with Chair of the Curatorial Department Laura Vookles. Participants will also learn how women’s fashion in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries morphed from bustles to hourglass silhouettes. Begins at 1:30pm via Zoom.
TUES, MAY 26: Live Webinar: Entertainment in the Roman Empire
Westchester Italian Cultural Center’s livestream webinar series will continue on Tuesday with a discussion on the history of entertainment during the Roman Empire. Instructor Marisa Horowitz-Jaffe will explore the various types of gladiatorial and chariot race spectacles, and how the Roman Colosseum provided a world-renowned stage for these fights. Begins at 1pm.
WED, MAY 27: Livestream Concert with Norm Dodge
Guitarist and singer-songwriter Norm Dodge will perform live for Tarrytown Music Hall’s new “Night-In With The Music Hall” livestream series this Wednesday on Facebook Live. Dodge specializes in classic rock and draws from a repertoire that reflects on the artists that have and continue to influence him. Begins at 6pm.
