Hearts and Homes for Refugees hosts personal products drive
Hearts & Homes for refugees is hosting a “Love Your Neighbor” drive, beginning Jan. 18, through Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14), they announced at a virtual talk as a part of the Biden-Harris Inaugural Committee’s day of service.
For the drive, anything from toiletries to disinfectants will be accepted. The items to donate include toothpaste & toothbrushes, soap, feminine products, shampoo & conditioner, disposable razors, laundry detergent, hand sanitisers (in medium-sized containers), and disinfectant sprays/aerosols. These items may seem very basic but are essential, according to O’Callaghan.
“We do have the will and the way to do this and we will forge ahead and rebuild the refugee resettlement program. The more donations we get, the broader our reach will be,” said Kathie O’Callaghan from the organization.
Hearts & Homes focuses on the well-being of refugees in the Westchester area and is sponsored by the presidential inaugural committee, along with other national refugee originations.
