Container Planting with Tracee Neumann

During this workshop, Tracee will help you design a container planting that will brighten up your front porch, deck, or special niche in your yard.

The Garden Room is the work of landscape designer Tracee Neumann. She is best known for her outdoor seasonal planters which draw on 15 years of experience designing residential landscapes on Long Island’s North Shore, and now in and around Westchester. Impressed by the beauty and imperfections of the natural world, Tracee seeks to combine the ephemeral details of each season with the permanence of the constant landscape.

Limited to 10 people. Registration closes on April 13, 2021.

Terrarium Building with Maria Colletti

May 1 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Horticulturist and author, Maria Colletti will show you how to create your own terrarium with layers of pebbles, soil, and a combination of mini terrarium plants and thick moss. Students will create a delightful oasis garden tucked into a glass vessel to take home.

Floral Arranging with Colleen Zale

May 8 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Colleen Zale of Pelham’s CZ Floral Design will introduce you to the current artistic trends surrounding flowers and foliage. Colleen will guide you through a step by step process of creating a beautiful floral arrangement that you can take home. Or, create an arrangement as a Mother’s Day gift.

CZ Floral Design is a small floral design business based in Pelham, NY. Projects range from seasonal arrangements to weddings and everything in between. Colleen’s style is eclectic mixed with romantic and dreamy.

Vegetable Gardening Primer with Ann Loughran

May 15 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Join Ann Loughran in Bartow-Pell’s vegetable garden for a talk about soil preparation, plant selection, location, and general maintenance tips for a bountiful and happy harvest.

Ann is an enthusiastic gardener who especially enjoys raising vegetables and cooking and jarring them for year round enjoyment.  She has earned a Gardening Certificate from the New York Botanical Garden.
