Section 1 announced their all-league, all-conference, and all-section players from the previous spring football season on Thursday night. Six Pelican players won all-league, two of those six won all-conference, and one won all-section. These awards were voted on by the coaches in their respected positions.

Senior wide receiver and defensive back Jeremiah Reen took home the lone all-section award for the group as well as all-league honors. Reen was all over the place for the Pelicans as he led the team in receiving and was used as a jack of all trades on defense.

The all-conference honors went out to Luke Green and Thomas Shelton. Both also earned all-league as well. Green, a sophomore, anchored the right tackle spot on offense and manned the defensive tackle position on defense where he garnered two sacks and 42 tackles. Shelton is a junior captain who led the team with seven total touchdowns as well as 27 tackles, and two forced fumbles on the defensive side of the ball.

Senior quarterback Carlo Volpe earned all-league honors in his final season at Pelham in which he broke the school’s all-time passing record. Volpe will be playing at St. Lawrence University next year. He caps off a three-year starting career with this honor.

Along with Volpe, senior Flynn Bryan and junior Josiah Campbell took home all-league honors. Bryan, a captain last year, played tight end and linebacker for Pelham where he averaged over 15 yards per catch and led the team in tackles. Campbell had 28 tackles with three tackles for loss and two forced fumbles coming out of the defensive end position.

Pelham finished the year with one win and three losses. This team, like many others, saw their season end early due to Covid-19. After picking up steam following their first win against Sleepy Hollow, the team was not allowed to play future games. The team looks to continue its success this year into the next fall season.
