Ball Chain Manufacturing, a Pelham-owned company based in Mount Vernon, expanded in March with the purchase of the T-Shirt Works brand, which is to become a part of the LogoTags division of Ball Chain.

The new addition is a 30-year-old business also based in  Mount Vernon that specializes in screen printing on a variety of clothing items. The LogoTags division makes promotional products including dog tags, charms and pins.

Many Pelhamites know Bill Taubner, the owner of Ball Chain, as an active Pelham Manor resident. His company, the largest manufacturer in the nation of ball chain products, was founded in the Bronx before it moved to Mount Vernon.

“We had done business with the T-Shirt Works for years,” said Taubner. “We’re both local, family-owned and operated companies, and we had a great relationship with the owners. When they approached us about possibly purchasing T-Shirt Works, we saw this as a good opportunity for the company.”

As for Pelham residents interested in purchasing from Logo Tags or T-Shirt works, “we welcome customers to meet on-site with our dedicated sales team,” he said. “We offer free local delivery. Dawn Milanese, Logotags’ general manager, would be happy to help and/or direct our sales team with any projects.”

In the future, there are plans to further expand T-Shirt works and add new, more advanced machinery to the production line.
