Pedestrian crosswalk delay extended at Four Corners intersection

Pedestrian crosswalk delay extended at Four Corners intersection

Editor’s note: This press release and photo were provided by the Village of Pelham Manor.

At the last Village of Pelham Manor Board of Trustees meeting, the Village announced that it worked collaboratively with the NYS DOT to extend the pedestrian crosswalk delay at the Four Corners intersection. This extension will provide pedestrians with additional time to cross the intersection before vehicles are permitted to start moving.

The DOT implemented this safety measure at the Board’s request and at approximately the same time the Board extended the Crossing Guard’s shift at Four Corners to end at 9:00 a.m., instead of 8:30 a.m. (the Crossing Guard begins at 7:30 a.m.).

As always, pedestrian and traffic safety are of the utmost importance to Pelham Manor, and we thank our residents for their feedback.
