On July 17, Alexander D. Michailoff’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor took place at the Daronco Town House, where Michailoff was recognized for completing his Eagle service project and taking the final step in Scouting and becoming an Eagle Scout.

Michailoff’s project included a multi-phased approach to improve the grounds at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor. He planted four sugar maple trees and numerous other plantings around the parish, installed a rain gutter and two rain barrels to provide water, and repaired a slate walkway.

At the ceremony, several notable people spoke to recognize Michailoff’s efforts, including Pelham Town Supervisor Dan McLaughlin, Village of Pelham Mayor Chance Mullen, Village of Pelham Manor Mayor Jennifer Monachino Lapey and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin.

In addition, his sister Caroline was honored for her efforts in completing her Gold Award service project, the equivalent of the Eagle project in Girl Scouts. Her project consisted of designing and planting two sustainable pollinator gardens, one in a Pelham Manor park off of the Esplanade and Boston Post Road and another at the Highbrook Highline in Pelham.
