September ushers in a new season at the Library! From Kindergarteners getting their first library card to resources such as Learning Express and programs like adult book clubs, the library is your place for lifelong learning. Come browse the collection or use computers and workspaces, space permitting.

Adult Bookclubs Begin 2021-22 Season. Newcomers Welcome!

The After-Dark Book Club will meet on Zoom on Thursday night, September 9, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. when we will discuss The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd. We will be reading The Stationery Shop by Marjan Kamali for October 7th. The 2nd Friday Book Club meets on Friday September 10 at 10:30 am and will be reading The Sun Also Rises. We will be reading Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger on October 8th. High School Equivalency Information Session through the Westchester Library System, September 30, 5:30 pm

Attend an information session and get connected to Essential Ed’s TASC Academy. This fully online, interactive learning program is geared for adults at all skill levels. Those who contact our HSE Connect! program can obtain a password to the program and get assigned a Study Coach. The Coach helps them navigate the resource, keeps track of the progress, and partners to keep the student moving forward.To register, click here.

Come Visit Us at the Pelham Market! Sunday, September 12, 9:30 to 1 pm.

The Library will have a table at the Pelham Market at Michael Schwerner Way. Come by and sign up for a library card! Please bring a picture ID as well as proof of residency. The Market is on Michael Schwerner Way between the Gazebo and the Train Station.

Kindergarten Library Card Sign-Up Day, Saturday September 11, 12 pm to 3 pm

Come get your kindergartner his or her first library card at our annual K-Day event on Saturday, September 11th from 12 pm to 3 pm. At this annual event, the Town of Pelham Public Library welcomes its youngest patrons as they begin their learning journey. We will have a balloon twister, face painting, snacks and more! Adults can get a library card too. Parents or caregivers must bring a photo ID and proof of residency with them to the library. Children may keep their library card on file behind the circulation desk they turn 12.

Our annual K-Day event is generously funded by the Friends of the Town of Pelham Public Library.

Kids’ Yoga with Miss Samantha, Saturday, September 25th, 10:30 am

Join Miss Samantha in person and outside for a fun and active yoga-based story time. Kids ages 5 and up and their caregivers will learn yoga poses, play yoga-based games & read a yoga story. Adults are welcome too and will enjoy this creative program. Please bring a towel or yoga mat and plenty of water!

Story Time with Special Guest State Senator Biaggi, Tuesday September 14, 10:15 am

The Library is excited to welcome a special guest to our regular story time for babies and toddlers. State Senator Alessandra Biaggi will be on hand to read one story to our youngest patrons and their caregivers. This event will be held outside on our front lawn. Please bring a blanket and maintain social distancing squares. In the case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled. Please call the Library or check the website that morning.
