Weekend traffic alert: One-lane closure both ways on Hutch exits 4-7 Friday night through Saturday noon

The crossing over the Hutchinson River Parkway was renamed the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – Michael Henry Schwerner Memorial Bridge.

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Westchester County motorists to expect one lane to close along the Hutchinson River Parkway northbound and southbound between Exit 4 (Boston Post Road/US Route 1) in the Village of Pelham Manor and Exit 7 (Pelhamdale Avenue) in the City of Mount Vernon, beginning Friday, November 5 at 10 p.m. through Saturday, November 6 at 12 p.m. and Friday, November 12 at 10 p.m. through Saturday, November 13 at 12 p.m., to facilitate drainage work, weather permitting.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
