Knights of Columbus running raffle to benefit charity work, boost Pelham restaurants

Pelham— March 20, 2022 — At its annual St. Patrick/St. Joseph celebration, the Pelham Knights of Columbus announced its inaugural A Night on the Knights raffle, supporting Pelham’s restaurants and the Knight’s charitable works.

“We wanted to expand our fundraising reach beyond OLPH-St. Catharine as well as help out some of our local restaurants” said Chris Cohen, Raffle Chair.

Raffle Structure

Each raffle ticket will have 12 chances to win. On a monthly basis, one winner will receive a gift certificate to one of Pelham’s restaurants and another winner will receive a $10 refund prize. The drawings start in July and go through the end of the year:

  • July: Cantina Lobos, $100 Gift Certificate
  • August: Sergio’s Ristorante, $100 Gift Certificate
  • September: Rockwell’s American Restaurant, $100 Gift Certificate
  • October: La Fontanella, $100 Gift Certificate
  • November: Sakura Japanese Restaurant, $100 Gift Certificate
  • December: Macelleria Italian Steakhouse, $200 Gift Certificate

Raffles can be purchased for $10 each or three for $20.

Positive Reaction

“We started selling the raffles and the response has been tremendous,” said Daniel Maydwell, Grand Knight. “It’s been easy to sell because of the great reputations of the restaurants. Everyone wants a chance to have a nice night out.”

Founded in the United States in 1882, the Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. There are more than 2 million members in 16,000 councils in over 15 nations. The Pelham Council has been serving the Pelham community since 1965.
