The PMHS varsity girls lacrosse team defeated Scarsdale 17-10 in a one sided game on Tuesday. The Pelicans now improve to a record of 6-4, a massive improvement to the beginning of their season where they started 1-4. With a five game winning streak burning red hot, the Pelicans hope to keep their momentum as they head into Thursday’s matchup against rivals Rye.

The game was commanded by the Pelicans with senior Grace Dunhill garnering an impressive 2 goals and 4 assists against the Raiders. Senior Emma Crotty and sophomore Taylor Green each scored 4 goals, with the duo combining for over half of Pelham’s points. Junior Mia Orlando was crucial in Pelham’s success, leading with a strong defensive performance, 2 goals, and 1 assist. Pelham saw three more goal-scorers by junior Ava Sobolak and freshman Arden Keough and eighth-grader Maggie Sweeney, as well as a solid goalkeeping performance by senior Sasha Fair.

With only six games left in the season, the Pelicans hope to continue their recent success into the last half of the season.
