The Pelham girls lacrosse team saw its season end in a bitter 15-12 postseason loss to Rye on Saturday. The defeat came in the second round of the Section 1 Class C playoffs.

Pelham was well into the game in the first half, going into halftime only down by three points. However, a strong second half performance by Rye was enough to close out the Pelicans and send them home.

Despite the loss, the Pelham girls cannot be disappointed in their season, with plenty of wins and moments to celebrate. Key players returning next season include star sophomore attacker Taylor Green and midfielder Mia Orlando, a Villanova commit.

Goalkeeper Sasha Fair was nominated for Journal News Player of the Week, after stopping 15 shots in the Rye game, including three in a row from directly in front of her net, and making four saves in the playoff win over Sleepy Hollow.
