My name is Kara McLoughlin, and I’m proud to be running for re-election to the Pelham Town Council – because even though we’ve gotten so much done together, we still have work to do!
My husband, Chris D’Angelo, and I have called Pelham home for the past 20 years. When we moved here, our children were just toddlers. We’ve watched them grow into adults, right here in this incredible community. Along the way, we’ve made lifelong friends—friends who’ve celebrated life’s joys with us and stood by us through difficult times.
And that deep sense of connection is exactly why I ran for office in 2021—to give back to the town and the people who have given us so much. And over the past four years, I’ve worked hard to get real things done.
When it became clear that our fly car wasn’t meeting the emergency needs of our town, I pushed for something better. I helped secure state funding to launch our own ambulance service. What was once a struggling system is now an award-winning, state-recognized EMT service—and a model for towns across New York.
As liaison to the Recreation Department, when residents told me they needed a more user-friendly recreation website, I listened. We now have a brand-new site and a mobile app that makes registration a breeze—and even notifies you when soccer is rained out!
We’ve also expanded programming for every age from toddlers to seniors. We’ve added more story hours at the library, after-school STEM classes in elementary schools, year-round pickleball, Mahjong games, and so much more.
That said, there’s still more to do. And this time, I’m proud to be running with a full slate of dedicated, passionate, and like-minded candidates: Theresa Mohan, Michael Jenks, Eileen Miller, and Erica Winter. Together, we’re ready to take on what’s next.
We need to improve Town buildings — like installing the elevator in Town Hall and upgrading the restrooms, kitchen, paint, and carpeting in Daronco Town House — with funding we’ve already secured. And we’ll do that while continuing to support the library, court system, tax receiver, property assessment, our recreation programs, and create a dedicated EMS facility.
To do all of this—and do it right—we need a strategic plan. A vision for Pelham’s future. One that doesn’t just preserve what we have, but that wisely plans for now and in the future.
So please, on November 4th, vote for me—Kara McLoughlin—for Town Council. Let’s keep working together to make Pelham the very best it can be.
