The Pelham Science Research Program held its annual senior symposium on January 28. Students had the chance to showcase the research projects they have been working on for the last four years to their friends and families. The seniors have not only dedicated time to their research in the classroom but have also interned with scientists in their field, participated in competitions and submitted a cumulative review of their project to the Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) competition.
This year, Regeneron STS recognized senior Emily Walch as one of the top 300 scholars nationwide for her study of memory preservation through improved cognition. She highlighted the disparities in healthcare services for Spanish speakers through extensive scientific research. Additionally, seniors Anjali Shekher, Kiran Schwaderer, Sandra Chalissery and Taya Senerchia had the opportunity to present their projects in the high school auditorium to a packed audience.
