It’s official: Six candidates file to run for Pelham school board on May 17

Six candidates will be on the ballot May 17 for three seats on the Pelham Board of Education.

District clerk Pauline Davies confirmed the following filed petitions by the April 18 deadline and that they will be on the ballot in this order, based on the drawing of lots by Davies (links are to candidate statements):

Trustees Leah Tahbaz, Vincent Mazzaro and John Brice are all stepping down from the board. Members serve for three-year terms. Voting will take place in the Pelham Middle School gymnasium from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on May 17. Also on the ballot is the proposed $83.7 million budget for the district and a proposal to create a capital reserve fund.
