PMHS indoor track and field shines at Division 1 Class B sectionals with seven top 3 finishes

The PMHS indoor track and field team stood out at the Division I Class B sectional meeting on Sunday, bringing home an impressive seven top 3 finishes. The team put together an all-around dominant performance, medaling in four different events. Sunday marks the second time this year that the Pelicans have achieved multiple top 3 finishes at the Armory, with the previous meet being on Jan. 5.

“We really tried to leave it all on the track this time” said junior captain Kristian Howell. “The energy was different this time. Everyone wanted to make this meet our best yet.” Howell placed within the top six of both of his events.

Boy’s achievements:

Nicholas Massaregli – 2nd in long jump
Kristian Howell – 2nd in 55m sprint
Quincy Stern – 3rd in high jump

Girl’s achievements:

Ava Pursel, Ava Sobolak, Genevieve Pereira and Henna Wei – 2nd in 4 x 200m relay
