The Village’s stormwater structures and materials for the Highbrook Avenue Stormwater Project 2025 have arrived! We are utilizing our municipally owned lot at the intersection of Highbrook Avenue and Monterey Avenue to stage the materials and minimal equipment.
As previously shared, part of the scope of work for this project is to line a portion of stormwater pipe that is already sized in accordance with the new pipe that will be installed. This lining work will extend the useful life of this existing pipe. Fortunately, the weather is finally acceptable to conduct these services and lining will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, July 22, 2025 (it can be less effective to conduct lining services in very high temperatures).
Starting on Wednesday, July 23, construction crews from Peter J. Landi, Inc., will be on-site and will continue to be for the duration of the project. Veolia has received clearance from Westchester County Department of Health to move ahead with their portion of work. We anticipate their crews will mobilize soon. ConEdison has already conducted their support items.
Residents should plan on construction taking place within the project boundary (Highbrook Avenue from Witherbee Avenue to Colonial Avenue) for the remainder of the summer. Temporary safety signage will be placed in the area, as appropriate, to indicate roadway and sidewalk closures.
