The PMHS boys cross country team won the league championship Tuesday, taking the title for the first time in a decade.

Four Pelican runners placed in the top 10 in the competition held at Edgemont High School.

Senior captain Padraig Pearlman finished second and junior captain George Negrin fifth. They were followed by sophomore Elliott Levine in sixth and junior Julian Kalehoff in seventh.

“It’s an incredible feeling to accomplish something that the team has been striving towards for years,” said Pearlman. “The past few seasons have been frustrating near misses but it’s been amazing for everything to finally come together in my last year of being on the team. I think we have a really special group with some great chemistry, and I loved being able to achieve this milestone with them.”
